To conclude

I wanted to conclude this final creative strategy, by just saying thanks
everything during this class. I know that I had outside obligations come into play that kept me from having perfect attendance, and getting everything that I could have out of class, but I managed to learn a ton of very cool, and practical stuff, and have a very fun time along the way. I know can say I know how to upload photos and edit them in detail, make a website for myself and make sweet videos. Thanks Again for everything and have a great summer everyone!

To begin with I chose to work on this project by myself because I felt that it wouldn’t be fair to work with someone else as I go home to GrandePriairie every weekend, and I am working at Maddhatters on the rest of the days and most evening as this is my only class to fulfill the final requirements for my business degree.

To begin with, I decided to once again go with a route that no one else would go down and that being a commercial for the bar that I am partial owner of, Liquid Lounge in The Ramada Hotel. The Bar has been a hug part of my life and I thought it would be cool to make a silly little commercial. Since our radio ad campaign has been based on a large portion of spoofs and satire and very freelance, I thought it would be cool to go in the same direction.

Me and Ray, My partner where watching TV a couple of weeks ago and we seen a commercial for a pizza commercial, about “it just tastes like delivery”, I think that you may have seen it. We thought it would be funny for us to rip off the commercial and have someone eating in a restaurant, as it would be so stupid it would be funny.

I have a friend who work for a place called the commercial factory who help me with the original filming of the video, and I did the majority of the editing on my dads laptop in Grande Prairie as he is into video editing himself. He helped me and taught me the basics of the program. I think that some of the methods that I used may have been a little orthodox, but all in all between the lectures, the tutorials, and a lot of time playing around I think that I got a really good grasp of the program.

In Addition, I have experience with adobe audition and mix vinyl on my spare time. I put together a minute and half mix session that I was originally going to use as the back ground music but when I did, it ended up kicking with the beat of the music playing in the restaurant and took away from the overall quality of the commercial so I took it out, and opted to chop sections of it to use at the opening and ending and I think it works for and not against the commercial.

I think that the overall product is short, sweet and funny. Exactly what I wanted it to be. I think that if I were to watch the video and never have been there I would think that it was funny and would draw my interest to go there. I am so glad that I got to do this video because it really tied together Adobe Photoshop, Premiere and even audition together, and its amazing what you can do between the three of them and how interchangeable they are.

Webpage COnt.

wow, i am finally done the website. I am happy with the final product even though it is quite simpple, thats how i wanted it. I like the simple almost cartoony feel and think it is close to how i wanted it to be all in all. I intentionally left the webpage quite simple (info. etc.) because I wanted to be to the point for anyone who is ready the page, and elimate any useless information, not to say that there may be on other peoples. thats just how i am. Cheers, looking forward to doing the Premeier section of the course and am left with a million questions still about dreamwaever I would love to create more websites. Cheers

The Beginning

Well, I guess This is the Beginning of The blog, for me. I have been dealing with a Family situation that has had me back and forth from home thorughout the semester, causing me to not only be uninvolved with this class, but dissinterested with school in general. This Week I had an opiphany. This is the Final Class I need to Graduate, and its not going to help things any by not coming to this class, doing the assigments, progress creativly and get the most out of the last semester I Have in school and enjoy it. I enjoy the class alot, and think I could use alot of the things I use practically in the real world as opposed to alot of classes that I have taken. So this should be the begining, of regular and more introspective blogs, describing my creative growth and process throughout the term. Cheers

Oilers Trade Symth

I don’t exactly feel sorry for Oilers fans, being a huge one but I know exactly how they feel. Canucks fans had the exact same feeling when Mike Keenan traded Trevor Linden to the Islanders years ago. Sure, the Canucks got the better end of that bargain, but the trade still hurt a whole lot. Few players have ever had the connection to a city like Linden did with the Canucks.

On the other hand, Ryan Smyth is demanding more money than he is really worth, and his agent is Don Meehan, who is basically the Scott Boras of hockey agents.
today's deal is clearly a case of throwing the 30-goal scoring golden baby out with the bath water.

I wouldn't call Lowe cheap (how else can you explain the loyalty contracts to Staios or Pisani?) but we're talking a difference of a million dollars: a couple of Toby Petersons, really. This is Ryan Smyth. The man, who, for the record [tears of pure oil welling up in my eye], I've always felt was a much more important player to the Oilers than Mark Messier.

He was our last shot at a real Stevie Y type: a true blue Oiler with a special failure of imagination to think of playing anywhere else. At one time, I thought things like institutional memory were important, that we weren't just cheering for laundry, the idea that teams could have distinct identities that could span decades.

The salary cap era has only made players even more expendable. I'm under no illusion that hockey isn't a business, but it's an increasingly cap-fixated, mercenary one, which totally sucks, especially today. If I close my eyes, I can see Ryan Smyth's ferrety face; his slinky, durable body slipping past a check on the boards; and of course, that small pile of blood and teeth left on the ice during the 2006 playoffs. As a Edmonton Fan in Lethrbidge, I hate to see the battle of alberta slinked to calgary but I dont Think Lowe mad as BAd a CHoice as Everyone thinks that he did.
